Swirlydoos Ultimate Design Team Challenge Finally

This is it everyone, the last week and the finally of this awesome learning experience! Wow! Six weeks of challenges over at Swirlydoos.  And each week we got to create a project using a different technique.

This final week we had to not only follow the sketch provided to us, but..but..apply layering, distressing, use of different mediums, and an additional technique of our choice.

Below are pictures with closeups of my layout:

She who leaves a trail of glitter is never forgotten.

This is a pic of me in both color and in black and grey.
I used papers from one of the past Swirlydoos kits. I also did some hand stitching with embossing and distressing.

Here's a closeup of the layering and distressing. You can also see on the right I did some stamp embossing using embossing powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang. On the left I just stamped with distress ink the image to the paper.

Here's a closeup of the leaf stencil used with light modeling paste.

This is a closeup of the DA chippy which was painted with GM spray and stamped with acrylic paint. I also added some chalk ink to the edges. Oh and some pearls.

This is a closeup of the stitching, bling, stencil and glimmer mist.

I made this flower using the flower cabbage tutorial on Natasha Naranjo Aguirre's blog.

Here you can see the stamp embossing and also the modeling paste.

Swirlydoos Ultimate Design Team Challenge

We're on to week 4, and boy have these ladies stepped up to the plate! It's nerve wrecking and exciting at the same time.  I am honored and humbled to still be in it to win it.. over at Swirlydoos.   And like I said before, if I don't make it past this week's elimination it's all good. I've learned so much and have been very inspired by all the ladies.

So with that said, this weeks challenge is to use a canvas to create our project..EEEKK. It's been a long time since I've played with my canvases.

Here is my entry with details:

Titled: Wearing her invisible crown

It has been a long time that I've used a pic of myself.. I just don't like for people to take photo's of me.  Silly right? Anyways here's a list of the products I used on this canvas.
I used many different types of art mediums to include: liquitex glass beads, gesso in black white and clear, glimmer mist in both spanish moss and bell bottom jeans, silks acrylic glaze in ice, luminarte bolivian blue, and acrylic paint in snow cap.

This is a closeup of the diamond mask I used from The Crafters Workshop. I used the glass beads which I let dry then painted with glaze in ice color and also some white gesso. This corner is also painted in the luminarte bolivian blue, adds great shimmer.

Underneath everything, I did use some tissue paper with music notes on it but since I've added so much you can barely see it now.

Here's another closeup of the DA chippy and the glass beads diamond pattern.

This corner is spritzed with spanish moss glimmer mist and painted with snow cap acrylic paint, to give it a lighter shade of blue.

Swirlydoos Ultimate Design Team Challenge Week 2

And on to Week 2, for the Ultimate Design Team Challenge at Swirlydoos.
This week it was all about layering, layering and lots of layers.
Below is my layout submitted with close-ups.
I used papers from the kit of the month.

Titled:  Look Into My Soul

I did lots of distressing with water and scissors. I also did some hand stitching. The larger dark flowers I made using my Rose Creations Die and painted the edges with puff paint.

The blue-ish paper behind the photo was crumbled with my hand.  Then I rubbed chalk ink on top which made the folded edges stand out.

The white/ivory flowers are from Prima. I also inked the edges with some chalk ink.
The white lace was from my stash.

Swirlydoos Ultimate Design Challenge

Hi Everyone!

This is the first week for the challenge running at Swirlydoos. The challenge asked for a multi-dimensional-embellishment. So here is my entry with details! My layout is titled "Magical".

Here is my embellishment. I used a butterfly Sizzix die cut, painted the butterfly first with some white gesso. Then I mixed some Liquitex glass beads with silks acrylic gaze in teal zircon. Once it dried, I spritzed the butterfly with gossamer gold moonshadow mist and glory of the seas gold starburst spray from Lindy's Stamp Gang.  For the body of the butterfly I used some beads from Art C. I added some prima crystals to the corners.

Here's a closeup, hoping you can see the fairy dust glitter I also sprinkled on here.

This is a pic of DH and I. I used papers from the KOTM over at Swirlydoos. I love these FabScrap Organic papers! They are gorgeous..gorgeous!! I painted some DA I had, used flowers from Kaisercraft and Prima.

Here's a closeup of the flower cluster.

And another closeup of the butterfly.
