My Mother

This layout was submitted over at the Swirlydoos Round Robin Challenge. The theme was motherhood whether you used a pic of yourself, your mother, grandmother or any matter which speaks to you about motherhood. I chose a picture of my mother at age 5. I'm not even sure if she knows I have this picture of her, my grandmother gave it to me. But it's my most favorite picture of all.
Towards the right hand bottom corner, on the ATC..there is a scroll wrapped with ribbon with some hidden journaling. This journaling is dear to my heart and says the following:

You are the sunlight in my day, you are the moon I see far away.
You are the tree I lean upon, you are the one that makes troubles be gone.
You are the one who taught me life, how not to fight, and what is right.
You are the words inside my song, you are my love, my life, my mom.
You are the one who cares for me, you are the eyes that help me see.
You are the one who knows me best, when it's time to have fun and time to rest.
You are the one who has helped me to dream, you hear my heart and you hear my screams.
Afraid of life but looking for love, I'm blessed for God sent you from above.
You are my friend, my heart, and my soul, you are the greatest friend I know.
You are the words inside my song, you are my love, my life, my mom.

The papers are from the swirlydoos kit called "Oh So Chic". They are the new Donna Salazar Boutanique Collection. The flowers are from prima and petaloo. The circle chippy is from dusty attic, painted with pearl acrylic paint. I also did some hand stitching and ink distressing.

Here is a closeup of the ATC I created.

Thank you so much for looking and any comments are greatly appeciated!

Stuck On U Sketch Entry

Here is the layout I submitted for the sketch challenge over at Stuck On U Sketches which runs from April 27th-May 11th.  This is a picture of my black lab mix Cozmo. I titled this layout "You sprinkle our hearts with laughter.." because he does just that! He is such a fun and lovable dog. Actually sometimes I think he thinks he's a little person, sooo sensitive..playful ..and gentle.
Below is the original sketch  from SOUS.

And here is my layout. I used papers from the Bo Bunny Serenity Collection. I just love the deep and rich colors of this collection. The two larger flowers I made using Donna Salazar's Carnation Creation Die. I also painted the pieces (love the chicken wire) of chipboard from Dusty Attic using mica powders from Lindy's Stamp Gang in Tiger Lily Red Orange and Tie Me Kangaroo Down Brown.  I used starburst spray in 'tainted love teal' to color my larger flowers.

Here is a closeup of the flower I made.

TFL and any comments are greatly appreciated!!!

Your First Birthday

Hello Everyone! This is a layout I submitted over at Swirlydoos for the round robin challenge.  I titled it "Your First Birthday".  This pic was taken of my niece Kaya on her 1st Bday Party.  She is the newest addition to our family, charming, and little miss moody. But we adore and love her so much!
The layout was created using a past kit from Swirlydoos which was called the Mon Doux kit. Very pretty papers. I made the two larger flowers, used some burlap and did some punching and fussy cutting.

Here's a closeup of the larger flower I made using TH's tattered florals die.  I colored with distress ink and applied stickles to the edges to add a little shimmer.

Here's another look at the flower.

I fussy cut the angel and glued some Angel Wings I had in my stash from Melissa Francis. I think they look perfect! I also made the smaller pink flower with the tattered florals die, and added some Petaloo flowers.
